Want to see the Cirque de Soleil show in Las Vegas? Here is a review of this amazing show, as well as places
where you can get discount Las Vegas tickets.
Out of all of the Cirque du Soleil shows, Mystere is still my absolute favorite. Maybe because it was the first
Cirque show that I saw in Vegas. But I really don't think that that is the reason. I have been back to see this
show four times in the last ten years. There is just something special about it.
Imagine, if you can, strolling into a dream that you can actually see, hear, feel and virtually taste
and you have a slight glimpse into Cirque Du Soleil's Mystere.
Mystere is like being awake in dreamland. The images are surreal, almost like being inside of a Salvadore Dali
painting. It is almost like you can see glimpses of a new world around every corner.
And the music is absolutely beautiful. It just adds to that dreamlike atmosphere.
When you first arrive, you will have absolutely no idea what is to come. You are met with these two clowns, like
something out of Ringling Brothers meets the Marx Brothers. They follow the guests around, leading them to the
wrong seats, taking their popcorn and generally mocking them in good fun.
So you think that that is the tone that is to be set in this show but that is only part of the picture. The
clowns are mostly around to distract the audience while the stage is changed from one scene to the next.
The rest of the show is all amazing acrobatics, beautiful costumes, mixed with surrealism that includes a giant
snail that glides across the stage while the dancers leap around and fly through the air.
Do not think of this as a regular show where you simply stare at the stage. There are acts going on
simultaneously across the stage and even in the air. It is simply amazing.
You always feel that you have gotten more than your money's worth when you go to a Cirque show. With this
particular show, it is like you are given back your child hood. Your imagination is given full reign to run wild
and you will want to run back home and pick up that novel you were going to write or the easel for your next piece
of artwork. Mystere not only entertains. It inspires.
